This little interactive spreadsheet helps to calculate how many beads are available on a strand, and most importantly, how much each bead cost.
You can use it directly on this page: just click over the numbers and input new values for Strand Length, Bead Width, Strand cost and Waste percentage.
After adding new values, you can also select the entire box and choose Copy+Paste into Word or another text processor.
