Sing-Song Bird Brooch

With a primitive, almost Celtic design, this swirly bird pin evokes lost songs and ancient rituals.

Created in sterling silver wire, the bird is ornamented with tiny silver beads attached with hair-thin wire. Absolutely no solder or glue were used, only hand weaving and coiling techniques.

The brooch measures 3 1/4" (8.2 cm) long by 1 1/8" (3 cm), making it the perfect pin for a jacket lapel.

Design: This is one of those wonderul pieces which comes out very similar to the original design. Made for Year of Jewelry project during week 9: the theme was Birds.

The brooch is entirely constructed in sterling silver, with exception of the pin back, which is base metal (for better holding of a brooch of this kind).
