Desert Treasure Necklace
The last few weeks I've been inspired by the dry Santa Ana winds here in Los Angeles. Southern California *is* the desert, except you can't see the rocks because it's so overbuilt!
A couple of people asked me if it was possible to use the same swirly bezel technique as in the ornate ring to create pendants. The answer is Yes!
The focal stone is fossilized coral with some great sunburst patterns; and the necklace is made of a variety of different stones: citrine, whiskey quartz, tourmaline, agate, smokey quartz, ocean jasper, unakite, and
others.
Of course, I couldn't resist adding a little gecko quietly crawling over the focal... He's feeling at home in the desert sun!
The focal bezeled stone measures 1" by 1 1/4" (not including bail), and the necklace measures little over 20" long.
