"Earth" Necklace

This necklace was inspired by elements of the earth: it started with a rutilated quartz cabochon, set in an organic-looking basketweave bezel.

Then came the main piece, which was created with labradorite flats, elephant jasper and more rutilated quartz rondelles. The organic basketweave holding the cab simulates the layers of earth. Above earth, Mother Nature's critters: a lizard, a bumblebee and a spider.

All of it woven with yards and yards of hair thin 28 ga sterling silver wire: more than 50 feet went into this baby.

The necklace measures 18" long. The cab measures 1" in diameter, and the main piece is just under 4" wide.

Price: US$ 1800
