Tutorial 051:
Square Cab Ring

 

Level: Intermediate

 

This lesson teaches how to create a ring using a square or rectangular cushion-shaped cabochon. The woven wire on top of the cab creates a simple, but very elegant woven pattern over the stone.

 

Materials for pendant:

  • 8" 18 ga round soft or half hard wire
  • ¾" by ¾" square or rectangular cushion-shaped cabochon
  • 3 feet 28ga soft wire
  •  

    Note: you may use rectangular shapes or other sizes as well.

     

    Tools:

  • Ring mandrel
  • Metallic hammer
  • Metallic anvil or block
  • Flush wire cutter
  • Round nose pliers
  • Masking tape
  •
