YOJ 2007 Week 18 - Netted abalone necklace
My friend Karen Hardy (thanks girlfriend!) sent me these great pieces of abalone a while back, and I was just waiting for the right inspiration to use them. It finally arrived! I set the abalone in a netted bezel similar to the Rhodochrosite Golden Necklace and the Lemon Quartz Pendant. While the technique is essentially the same, the materials are radically different: silver instead of goldfilled wire; irregular stones instead of faceted; animals instead of beads. Looks completely different!!! I *really* don't want to sell this one.... I want to keep it for myself... My eternal problem... not wanting to sell my goodies.Abalone, sterling silver, colorado sunstone, labradorite.

Ok I know you are busy too, but yeah hurry with this tut! This pendant came out gorgeous!!! I love the way the Abalone just comes alive!
Eni, This is my favorite of the netted bezel necklaces you have done. I love the dreamy misty look to it. If I were you I'd want to keep it too. Maybe you can just "test drive it."

Hi , All of your creations are so very beautiful!.
The abalone you have there is only found in the cold waters off New Zealand.
The colours are extraordinary because of the food and temperature I think.
They are nice to eat too.
It is called Paua( PA_WAA)let me know if you ever want some more! i would be glad to send you some.
