YOJ 2007 Week 22: Tiny Mosaic Earrings

My family had two "mother's day" parties this year: one side of the family was away traveling during the actual date, so we had a late party. These are earrings that I made for all the moms: 1/2" jumprings totally wrapped with goldfilled wire, and inside a mosaic of tiny precious stones. Topaz, tourmaline, apatite and garnet. These are really easy and fast to make, I used a modified version of the Mosaic Pendant, using a 1/2" jumpring, but wrapped the entire jumpring first before attaching the stones.

I've always liked this style of wire wrapping but have been afraid that the wrapped wire will slip out of the jump ring. Did you use jumprings that were fused closed?
