YOJ 2007 Week 27 - Lavender Nest Ring

This ring is a modified version of the Nest Bezel ring, the only differences being that I used a flat faceted oval bead and much thinner wire than I normally would. The 26 gauge was wrapped almost thirty times for the shank and many, many more for the bezel. Since the stone is flat, the bezel sits underneath it and not around the stone. The result is that you can see the threads of wire through the stone from the top (look at the last picture you can see some of it). Pretty neat effect. It didn't take long to make, but boy did it take a load of wire!

Eni, I love the delicate look of this ring. I hadn't checked in at the YOJ blog for a while & decided to look today - You've been doing lovely work as usual. :)
