Hi Eni, I've been admiring your blog and website for quite sometime. I have a question: how long do you think it would take a novice to create jewelry. I notice it takes about a week for you, a professional, to create one peice of jewelry; do you think it will take longer for a novice? Also, do you think design is inate or is it something which can be learned? do you think a novice can make money selling their jewelry? Also, as I'm nearsighted what do you recommend for doing "up close" jewelry work?
Any ideas for a first a first piece of jewelry which can be beautiful and easy at the same time?
This is absolutely beautiful, Eni!
Sam
it is so Beautiful... I like the color..
Sandra, this is a difficult question, since it depends on the complexity of the piece. Some pieces can take an hour, others can take two or three days. FYI, it does not take me a week to create a piece -- I don't post every piece I create, since a lot of them are commissions and/or repeats.
I think design is definitely something that can be learned, with study. Taking some general design classes is VERY helpful.
Sandra, I had some of the same questions and then signed up for the mentoring program...I can't emphasize enough how beneficial it has been for me. I got my money's worth with all of the questions I asked in the first few weeks.
I don't know Eni personally--we're not even in the same time zone. But if this is something you are interested in, I strongly urge you to consider the mentoring program...email me if you have any questions about my satisfaction...
