YOJ 2007 Week 40: Another rainbow wrap ring

Another rainbow wrap ring. I started this one exactly the same way as the first one created on Week 39: Rainbow Wrap ring, but it turned out very different. Now I finally get it why these are so difficult to teach: there really is no apparent logic to the construction of these babies. I'm on a roll making them, I'm still yet to crack some method which will allow me to consistently create a similar design.

Hi Eni,

Both of your rings in this style are really beautiful.

The fact that "rainbow wraps" are hard to keep a consistent design and teach is one of the reasons I really like them! The person making one has to come up with their own style and kind of go with the flow on that particular day. The fundamentals (making a frame, weaving and coiling) can be taught and then someone can be set free to create something completely new with what they've learned.

I love reading your journal!

Eni, fico sem palavras...!
É deslumbrante, tudo. Tudo TUDO!!!
Estou farta de admirar os "natttywraps", mas penso sempre que foram feitos por alguém com 5 mãos!
:o)

Parabéns como sempre!

These rings are awesome. I realize an exact tutorial would be difficult but maybe one to show how they are started. I understand the basic techniques used, but after that I'm lost. Plus I've done all your other tutorials, and am dying for the next one to try!!!!

Can't get enough of wirework!
