Tutorial 037: Ornate Ring

Level: Very advanced

This LONG-AWAITED tutorial shows how to make a freeform ring with a single stone (cabochon or flat coin bead) set in an ornate spiraled bezel.

Believe it or not, more than 750 photographs were taken to make this tutorial and only 50-something were used in the end. And finally after a lot of work -- success, it's here. Get ready: take out your tools, your wire, add a bit of courage and patience, because this one is fun!

Materials:

  • 1 flat round stone: a coin bead or cabochon measuring 14x6mm
  • 14" 18ga soft or half hard silver wire
  • 10" 22ga soft or half hard silver wire
  • 8 feet 28ga dead-soft silver wire
  • 20 to 30 small matching seed beads, sizes varying from 1mm to 2mm.
  •

Note: you will need a ring mandrel, wooden dowel or fat pen to make the ring shank.

    Price: US$ 9.00
