Puppy Hugs Landscape

The 2023 To You Tangle event called for using Huggins, and that’s what I did. Well, I tried to. For some reason my Huggins got botched, and I ended with a series of stacked teacups. No mistakes, right! This reminded me of Session 08 of 2022 Zen Again when Martha showed us a similar result. She called it Puppy Hugs, so here it is.

I used Margaret Bremners Flying Birds string, but it turned into another landscape! I can’t seem to get away from them. Here’s a short step-out before and after shading:

I used the Art Raffle to pick the other tangles, and it gave me Nik (Bunny Wright), Drawing and Opus (Zentangle), and also Scatter, Zentwining (Lynn Mead) and Flowing Ribbons enhancers. All of which I’m pretty familiar with. Here is a close-up for you to inspect:

I think we are all a little in love with Tomàs Padro's new tangle Medusa. Here I'm posting two simple tiles where I explored the shading and different ways to construct the underlying ogee grid. I suspect Medusa is going to appear more in my work very soon!

I had a blast making these two pieces combining Wartz (Genevieve Crabe) with Sinkhole and Spherify! The Art Raffle gave me this difficult combination, but it was a fun experiment and I'm super happy with it.

Last week Art Clubbers and I had a Tangle Play session including Wyfore - where we explore tangles and make index cards - and I decided to combine it with Drawings over a triangular string. Very fun to play with!
