Tangling with Brush Pens Part 3

Art Clubbers and I had a wonderful session on Friday covering the third and last part of the series Tangling with Brush Pens. This entire series was more about acceptance, letting go and elegance of limits than anything else.

We started with a very fixed set of tangles that tanglers could choose from:

I also asked them to follow the technique recipe very closely. Other than that, they had the freedom to choose whichever tangles they wanted to use — and in fact, were encouraged to use DIFFERENT tangles than what I did.

Once the parameters were given, we started like normal, using brush pens and fude nib pens to create our tangling. As you can see, this painting has a REALLY long ugly stage which requires a lot of patience and trust.

After MANY layers and a lot of work, we finally start to see something a little more fun and acceptable.
